Skoglund Technical Services service contracts are reasonably priced, and help keep your total cost of ownership low.  Regular maintenance can often keep a computer running well, without major slowdowns or hardware failures for several years, well beyond the manufacturer's warranty period. A properly running computer reduces the need to purchase a new one, and thereby saves YOU money.  

Items checked during a standard preventive maintenance inspection include:

• outside surface cleaning if required
• interior cleaning with specially designed data-center grade vacuum to remove dust and other accumulations without damaging ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) sensitive components
• proper configuration of hardware peripherals
• proper operation of cooling devices including fans, water pumps, and radiators
• CMOS battery, helping to reduce system clock drift
• operating system security updates and patches are applied
• system is not compromised with virus or other mal-ware activity which may reduce performance, steal sensitive data, or produce anomalous information onscreen

Standard industry recommendation is that machines should have preventive maintenance activities performed every 6 months.  Some of the dirtier commercial environments may require more frequent cleanings.

Hardware only preventive maintenace is when hardware is cleaned, inside and out, and the software and operating system environment is left out.  Most machines can be cleaned out well in  a short period of time, standard labor rates apply.

Volume discounts, and service contract scheduling can reduce the cost on a per machine basis.
